Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states. This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children such as:
1. What to do when a child or infant has a breathing problem.
2. Giving compressions and breaths to an infant or child.
3. Stopping bleeding that can be seen.

5. Youth group leaders.
6. Coaches.
7. Others responsible for children.
1. First aid basics.
2. Medical emergencies.
3. Injury emergencies.
4. Environmental emergencies.
5. Optional pediatric first aid modules are:
• Pediatric first aid topics (eye injuries; fever; suspected abuse; and snake, spider, scorpion, tick and marine animal bites and stings)
• CPR and AED use
• Asthma care training for child care providers
American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course Completion Card valid for two years.
During the course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their first aid, CPR and AED skills practice, and CPR and AED skills testing.
• GSPGuards Offers Same Day Certification upon successfully completing the course.
1. Be present for the entire course.
2. Successfully complete all required skills.
3. Pass a multiple choice written exam at 84% or better.
1. Dress comfortably; CPR skills are practiced on the floor in a kneeling position.
2. It's the students responaibility to know which course they need to take. GSPGuard might recomend a class but always recheck with Employer or DOH.
3. Please note that CPR requires the use of a CPR-mask you could bring your own mask or you have the option to purchase one from us at an additional cost of $15.00.
