The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid Online Part 1 Course, Web-based and accessible 24 hours a day, provides a flexible alternative to classroom training.
Through case-based scenarios, interactive activities and videos, this course teaches the concepts of both single-rescuer and team basic life support.
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
1. Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
2. First aid basics.
3. Medical emergencies.
4. Injury emergencies.
5. Environmental emergencies.
Part 1 must be paired with a hands-on skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3) with an AHA Instructor. Students who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate that allows them entrance into a skills practice and testing session. An AHA Heartsaver First Aid course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of all three parts.

1. Be present for the entire course.

1. Dress comfortably; CPR skills are practiced on the floor in a kneeling position.
